Is it possible to copy a door down along a wall, and have it be associated with the wall like it's parent is?

Unfortunately not yet. When objects are duplicated, there is no guarantee that they should share the same parent, so we don't copy the opening.

You can however select the duplicated door, then select the wall, the Shift-O to insert the door in the wall.

Here's a little quirk, however
I think i used bpy.ops.bim.flip_fill() on these doors... not sure that's the reason.
