Hey all, we're planning to migrate servers around Monday, so there will be a bit of downtime :) I can be contacted at dion@thinkmoult.com for anything urgent.

  • I just saw this today, and it holds today, so the notice is short, but, here goes.......
*They do ask you to register to secure a place, but I assume the event will be streamed on their Facebook page anyway.
Open Design & Sustainable Building webinar by Wikifactory.

"In this opening session of our new monthly webinar series on Remaking Industry, we will explore how both online digital tools and collective intelligence can shape the way we design and build living systems for the future.
We bring together a diverse group of industry players who have one thing in common: building an open-source commons of sustainable design blueprints for the cities of tomorrow. Between construction and energy consumption, buildings are responsible for 39% of worldwide carbon emissions. Can buildings become carbon sinks instead? Can they adapt to changing environmental conditions? Can they be built with biodegradable materials that can be reused and repurposed? These are some of the questions we will discuss on Tuesday December 15th."

  • Aaah we missed it. But this is a great thread - remember to submit to https://osarch.org/events/ (on the top right, click "submit news or events" and that way OSArch can help publicize it.

  • Great. Will do that.

  • Is there a feed from that events list that can be followed? @Moult

  • @duncan perhaps https://osarch.org/events/feed/ - seems to be empty, maybe because now there are no upcoming events?

  • When sharing events from https://osarch.org/events/ it's really, really helpful to have an image. LinkedIn will keep trying to find an image anyway, so it's a good idea that it's there. Also of course images catch peoples attention.
@tetov @Moult who can smarten up the page so events can have an image - and add a default image if the poster doesn't have one.
Who is watching the incoming events? @yorik mentioned that he has sent some in that never were put up on the calendar. That sounds like a problem we need to address - especially since there is often very little time between the submission and the event. Can we start by discussing how the system works and who has access?

Not empty, contains one event. https://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi?url=https://osarch.org/events/feed/
(Sorry if you posted before this event was added)

Doesn't seem to be any such feature built in. Might be easiest to just ask all who can add events to remember to add an image

That contact form sends to administrator email, which is @Moult's.

  • @Moult how can we spread the task of updating the events calendar across several people?
@tetov could we manually add an image to the page? If so maybe @gokermu could make a standard graphic for the OSArch events calendar. I'm pretty sure LinkedIn and other SoMe will take any picture they find on the page, so a generic one is okay.
