Blender: rotate texture without rotating mapping

Is it possible to get the brick texture to apply the same on both objects without creating 2 material definitions to compensate?

  • Yes! With the Sure UVW addon. You can get it separately or it comes bundled with Magic UV which ships with Blender. The objects need to have the same object level rotation, then once the addon is enabled, go into edit move, UV menu and UVW -> Box.

  • As @dimitar said, you have to correct the UV mapping. You don't really need the add on for such trivial cases in ym opinion, just learn how the mapping works in Blender.

I would really suggest using sure UVW. More manual UV mapping is an unnecessary extra step for 95% of architecture projects out there with the help of Sure UVW mapping, as it makes sure that all objects have the same mapping scale no matter the object size (as long as the object scale is 1).
