6th June 20:00 UTC Monthly Meetup

edited November 2020 in General

The next meetup will be on the 6th of June 20:00UTC (8PM) (i.e. the first Saturday of the month).

I'm looking for volunteers to give a short minute presentation or demo about any cool open source related thing :) You can talk as short or as long as you want!

@Jesusbill will give an introduction to Salome Meca and other engineering goodness!

If you're up for it, add yourself to the spreadsheet and if you add your email too, I'll send around a reminder email:

@duncan - perhaps you can summarise too the progress on the mission statement? I've made progress on @theoryshaw 's annotation request for a few months ago, so I can share that, and if we make some progress on the FreeMVD round-tripping, we can also share that :)

  • Marked this thread as an announcement for visibility :)

  • I guess I could give a short intro to Salome_Meca (which are the modules and for what scope) and then if time permits pass along to IFC2CA (current state and how to produce the scripts from a given IFC and use them in Salome_Meca).

    That would be awesome!

  • @Jesusbill yes please do! That would be great! Maybe also give a "hello world" simulation for those of us who aren't engineers and think the work you do is magic :)

Sure I can go through the Mission Statement. I guess though that such formal things are not the main attraction, so let's do it after @Jesusbill s presentation.
Here's a link to see the local time where you are, it was totally random that I happened to fall across the meeting invite right on time last time!

I've made a page on the wiki where we can write more static content: https://wiki.osarch.org/index.php?title=Monthly_Meetup

  • Thanks for the wiki page! I've added YouTube links too. @Jesusbill you will be the star of the next meeting :D

  • Well, then I guess it's a good thing that hairdressers have eventually opened here in Italy :)

I've added some sections to the wiki page: Keynote, Agenda and Possible points for discussion
That way we can add links, do a quick writeup after each meeting, and keep track of suggested topis. During the meeting I think we should have an etherpad document open we can share for writing notes.
