Save styles in the working file back to the material file.
Let's say you have file X pulling in external_styles via file Y, the material library. If you tweak the styles in file X, is there an easy way to save them back to (overwrite) the styles in file Y?
The reason I ask, is a lot of times, in design, you want to tweak the shaders of a certain material relative to the other objects/materials in the scene--just to get the right feel. Once done, it would be nice if this internal shader graph could be easily 'exported' or 'saved' back to file Y, the material library.

There is no way to do it now and not sure if it can be added safely enough, need to do some tests - it's contradicting with the way Blender doesn't allow updating assets from the asset libary, link.
If anyone interested on how it would work in Blender, created a thread on blenderartists.org - https://blenderartists.org/t/append-change-assets-from-working-file-to-library/1497378
