  1. [Topologic] Redefining BIM through Spatial Topology, Information, and Grammars

    topologic
    by topologic · April 2022
The initial commit of a Topologic Workbench for FreeCAD is now on github! It has one command: "TPVertices". It takes one or more selected Parts and returns their Vertices. Now is th

Thanks. I solved this issue by compiling Topologic against OCCT 7.5 and python 3.8 and then not using any of the OCCT DLLs. Just the topologic pyd and dll files. I just created a Topologic workbench

@paullee and others who use FreeCAD. I just downloaded FreeCAD 0.19 and then 0.20 and I am encountering the same problem: The Part module is failing to load:
  5. Sharing code between FreeCAD and BlenderBIM

    * We use IFC natively. This means that whereas Revit and FreeCAD are importing data, we only process geometry (and materials). All other IFC data is loaded on-the-fly as the user requests it in the UI

The main speed hog in FreeCAD is when building the GUI objects, probably because there it needs to connect a lot of Qt signals. As a proof of that theory, if you import an IFC file in console mode, it

have to regenerate from scratch. Now blenderbim/freecad could gain this kind of functionality, it could use the same technique to create arrays of elements that would easily be read and counted by ot

There is a question in FreeCAD forum about 'incorporating' Topologic into FreeCAD, any comment ? :) -

Time and resources are always the keys. It is a shame what is achievable in Blender, e.g. Sverchok-Topologic, is not present in FreeCAD, at the moment :D

Yes. I have always said that whatever Topologic can do, can be achieved in FreeCAD. One can actually learn the methods we have in Topologic and re-implement them using the FreeCAD API. In fact, when w

I hope this helps. First create two cubes in FreeCAD and offset them as you see in the picture on the left. Then select both and run the code below.
