Now, if you are talking about the BlenderBIM-Addon, or FreeCAD, or IfcOpenShell, or LibreCAD, etc., that's a different matter. These are specific "products", and thus you need a stru

@Moult any idea how this works in the back of mediawiki? @yorik who has the skills to help us out here, there must be someone from the FreeCAD project who we can ask?

BlenderBIM is not ready for prime time yet, but it's moving fast and there are small projects that show it can be done. Most of the examples you find for now are from FreeCAD. Follow @Moult on Mastodo

That is exactly the problem in FreeCAD. ATM the id is saved just in a dict. If an object is copied the id is duplicated. It is impossible to attrac this in the copy method as there are dozens of possi

thanks for your effort, but probably do a work for FreeCAD and Blender based on Revit or MagiCAD could be a great fail. I know that Revit looks nice for Architects but good MEP is not necessarily good

@duncan I think that the main problem with every kind of association in FreeCAD is the topological naming problem: in short subshapes are "randomly" renamed after modifications, so i

I'd certainly like to take a moment to talk about how the wiki is developing and discuss if it's heading in the right direction. I'd love to hear from someone using mediawiki for documentation how the

The BlenderBIM Add-on has a bus factor of 1. FreeCAD is much more mature, having a bus factor of maybe 15 (guessing here - could be totally wrong - in the past month, 23 authors contributed, but not

I think it is already possible to do the modeling that you've shown in the videos in both FreeCAD and Blender. Some things require a few too many clicks to be convenient, but the functions are there.
