Welcome @Marcus ! The best way to collaborate in my opinion is to try and use the software :) It is very early stages, so the more people use tools like the BlenderBIM Add-on, FreeCAD, BIMTester, IfcO

I have similar problem with the Arch Axes from FreeCAD. I cannot import the ifc file to Blender (using the last addon version), but I can visualise the file in IFC++ and FreeCAD without problem.

Imagine you have just one project on one Revit/Blender/FreeCAD/... that all work on one desktop or cloud version of the tool
