[BlenderBIM] UI calculate real-time quantities
In a widely used commercial spreadsheet application, there is little noticed but nice feature: The program permanently calculates the sum of all cells currently selected by the user - if applicable. This made me think that it would be nice if a modelling application would provide something like a current footprint value or maybe current total volume of elements selected. This would be helpful when determining GFA or similar figures for obtaining permissions from the authorities. Especially nice since there is commercial software out there that requires its users to redraw a building volume they have just finished modelling, in a specially dedicated type of plan for that purpose - generously offering to snap to or mimicking lines from existing geometry.
Is there an ideas forum on this site somewhere? If there is, I did not find it. Feel free to remove this entry if it is inappropriate.
