How to find "geometric duplicates" (clones?) in a IFC file?

I have a IFC file with many beams columns, ... . Many of them are geometrically that same but may have different orientations/directions. I want to find all elements with the same geometry for production purposes.
How can I find them?
Would it be logic and is it possible in this case to convert convert the IfcBeam to a IfcBeamType?

  • I think it very much depends on your model - maybe all those share elements share material profiles or just profiles and it will help identify common elements. Or maybe they use the same profiles but they're not exactly the same elements - then you'll need to identify common profiles analyzing their parameters or shape. Or maybe they're not extrusion based at all. What you've got so far?

  • They do share the same material profiles. I understand how i can get elements with the same profile and the same length.
But them i'm stuck with Booleans and Voids ...
