Opensource BIMserver job posting, 2 years, fulltime
At HTW Dresden - University of Applied Sciences in south-east Germany, we are looking for a software developer to work on the development of opensource software, mainly the Opensource BIMserver, in a research project called OpenFabTwin. The position is fixed-term for two years with a workload of 40 hours per week (full time), payment and conditions follow the federal state employees salary scheme TV-L.
Your tasks:
- Interdisciplinary research and software development in the project "openFabTwin"
- Maintenance, test and documentation of a server software for storage and management of digital building models in IFC format (Opensource BIMserver)
- Design and development of project-specific extensions (plugins) for the BIMserver as well as other server components
- Deployment and operation of the developed prototypes
- Writing of research reports and publications, presentation of project results, participation in meetings and workshops
Your profile:
- Completed academic study program of computer science, construction engineering with construction informatics, geomatics or similar programs
- Very good programming skills and knowledge, preferably in Java
- Keen interest in computer applications in AEC, particulary in the area of digital building models
- Bonus knowledge, skills and experience: buildingSMART standards IFC, BCF, bSDD, modelling with CAD/BIM, development of server software, opensource software and communities
