Software for Mining Engineering

I mean minerals extraction. I was searching any software for Mining Engineering, in the entire internet I did not found an answer and I can can accept any suggestion, no matter if open source or private. (if open source is better)

    This is a very old post. But I was once in touch with Micromine (https://www.micromine.com/). They had very advanced capabilities for modelling. I was looking for alternatives to Civil3D for modelling excavation pits but at the end it was an overkill.
