RFC: classification(s)
Hi All,
this is a Request For Comments on implementing classification systems.
We have ISO 81346-2 and -12, setting the basic principles of classification systems. There is also CCI classification for technical and functional systems. Based on these, there is the Estonian CCI-EE classification. Our upcoming national classification system, NSIK, is also based on ISO and CCI tables.
Now I need to create the IDS for model verification, based on the OIR and EIR.
These classification codes are quite hard to parse and evaluate, so my fresh idea is: what if we split different tables into separate classifications? Eg. elements by technical systems will be classified in the "CCI-CT" classification. Elements by functional systems will be classified in "CCI-CF" classification. Elements by entry classes can be classified in "ISO 81346" classification. What I will lose, is the multi-aspect / multi-facet classification.
This idea is irrelevant to Uniclass, Uniformat, Omniclass etc, where table prefixes are in the classification system.
