#BonsaiBIM hashtag

edited September 2024 in General

I think we should use #BonsaiBIM hashtag on social channels, verses #Bonsai--just more discoverable, and we don't need to filter through trees, as beautiful as they are, to find relative posts. :)
Thoughts?

  • I often use hashtags to emphasize words, e.g. New release of #Bonsai v0.8.0 blah blah. Given that the name is "Bonsai" and not "BonsaiBIM", would it be something like New release of #Bonsai v0.8.0 blah blah #BonsaiBIM or how about an abbreviation like New release of #Bonsai v0.8.0 blah blah #BBIM ?

  • Though the name is Bonsai, it is natural to say "the Bonsai BIM tool" for clarity in a sentence, so #BonsaiBIM works well

  • Things are simple, #Bonsai hashtag on X or Youtube will search for plants. #Bunny is an animal, #Coral is ocean, and BlenderBIM with the #Blender hashtag is CG software.
A good way to show that Bonsai is BIM software is #BonsaiBIM. Since #BBIM is a shortened version of #BonsaiBIM, I wonder if it would be confusing to use it by itself. You are right about using hashtags for emphasis, but it is also good to use a new hashtag that enhances searchability

I support #BonsaiBIM all the way

  • I think #BonsaiBIM would be more recognizable than #BBIM
