On my previous laptop I had a nice icon for my IFC files in Explorer. I think I installed something that had the icon as an embedded ico - but I can't remember what it was.
Anyone know any good ones? I know I could make one, but my gimp skills are sorely lacking.

Look in the repository for Bonsai:
src/bonsai/bonsai/libs/desktop/*There's an icon defined in there. This gets set up on Linux automagically I think, as I don't recall doing manual steps to get my ifc files to use this icon. Unfortunately the Windows icon is "To Do", but this at least gives you the image.
Thanks @sjb007 - I converted direct to an ico from that - and it looks alright. I think I have to learn how to use gimp properly :')
Ha! I always found Gimp a bit clunky. Krita is another free OS bitmap editor that is more "artistic" maybe than Gimp.
I think you might be better off learning Inkscape though. Most icons are designed with vector art now, and rendered as bitmaps at various sizes.
you could just go the full Bonsai
