Why do I have to keep recalculating geometry?

Hi all,
I have these 5 walls that revert to this every time I open my model.

Time and again I've selected them and hit recalculate geometry so they look correct

But next time I open the file they'll be wrong again. Any hints as to what I might have done wrong? They are all the same type and each of them has a half space solid to cut the top to match the internal roof line.

    I have a similiar issue with a model, where the openings are only applied if I recalculate the geometry. I used the debug panel to narrow it further down, but still didn't solve it.
