BIMvoice Academy: free openBIM training using free tools (many open source too)
It felt wrong.
Preaching open standards, open tools, open everything, while my best practical courses sat behind a paywall.
So I opened them.
Everything I teach about practical openBIM is now free. Not previews. Not samples. The real courses. The same ones people have paid for.
IFC schema in practice. IDS from zero. Revit to IFC. Native IFC building modeling. Bridge modeling in IFC4x3. Bonsai from the ground up. Drawings straight out of IFC.

All of it free.
And all of it using free tools.
No expensive software needed. Just open standards, mostly open source tools, and the kind of practical learning openBIM always needed.
This was not only me.
Menno Mekes, Lloyd Bussio, Stefano Verugi and Yuri Alogna put serious work into these courses. Real hours, real expertise, real generosity. And when I asked if we could open them up to everyone, they said yes.
Thank you.
I also want to thank Dion Moult, who gives his time again and again on community calls, helping people with IfcOpenShell, Bonsai and real openBIM problems, asking for nothing back.
The free tools this whole library runs on exist because of work like his.
This is what the openBIM community is supposed to look like.
People sharing what they know instead of guarding it.
There are only two exceptions.
1. The buildingSMART certification training stays private and paid. That is part of my business, and it is what makes it possible to give everything else away.
2. The private workshops stay closed because people joined them expecting privacy.
Everything else is open.
No catch.
No trick.
Go learn openBIM.
There are two ways you can contribute.
First, give feedback inside the community. Tell us what is useful, what is confusing, what is missing, and where you get stuck. That feedback helps make the library better for everyone.
Second, if you want to prove your openBIM knowledge formally, take your buildingSMART Foundation or Practitioner certification training with BIMvoice. That is the paid part of the work, and it is what makes this unconventional model possible.
Thank you.
