Versioning of Revit IFC exports
Repost from buildingsmart forum:
I’d like to export my Revit model to IFC, add cost and schedule information to it, and have the ability to update the Revit file without losing all of the cost and schedule data that I added. The GUIDs from Revit will not change, but elements may be added or modified. Is it possible to version IFC files like this without losing data? Which tools should I be looking into to support this workflow?

There are essentially two approaches to this.
Option one is to build a "reload link" feature. Option two is to build a "import and relink 4d/5d data" feature. The second is much easier, and perhaps an afternoon of work, but only is useful in one scenario. The first is harder, but more generically useful.
Let's go for the first. How familiar are you with the blenderbim add-on? Would you like to help test?
I am getting up to speed with blenderbim now and would love to help. Ideally, some functionality would be provided that is similar to the "Compare 3D Versions" tool in BIM 360. https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/bim-360/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/ENU/BIM360D-Document-Management/files/About-Comparing-2D-and-3D/GUID-1872D1A7-1973-4715-BD99-13D766C18DFB-html.html
