Open pointcloud formats petition.
Over at Laserscanningforum there has been an initiative to make a petition to all manufakturers of laserscanners to make their file formats open. That would mean a lot for the whole industry. Help supporting them by signing here: https://openpointcloudformats.org/
There are already some big universities, airports and sofware developers signing up apart from scanning companies, and I have contacted the Swedish Heritage board and Gothenburg university. This needs momentum so please spred the word.

In order to move pointclouds from one software to another, we are forced to use "exchange formats". This restriction is a major hurdle, and led to the initiative https://openpointcloudformats.org to overcome artificial barriers.
