IfcProject

I know this isnt an IFC site (kinda) but im tired of LinkedIn even for ranting so ill share the pain here.
At Speckle we observe almost everythign that the server gets up to - most of all errors.
This:

happens A LOT!!! From a notable vendor software too, no less.
WHY!!!!!!?????????

IfcProject is the rootiest of root objects in the schema for like ... ever.

Anyway.

Pain shared is a pain halved. over and out

you mean this platform? surely it is

IfcProject is the rootiest of root objects in the schema for like ... ever.

You might want to provide a bit more info about your model perhaps? Looks like you (or Speckle) are trying to have more than one IfcProject in a single model.

in italian we say almost the same: "Mal comune mezzo gaudio" > shared pain is half joy :)

  • @steverugi I think you misunderstood jsdbroughton. I believe he works at Speckle. He is just here venting frustration at other commercial applications who do "dumb things" like including 2+ IfcProjects in the IFC files that are uploaded to the Speckle servers. No doubt some project Manager" had a "bright idea" and thought it was so good that the rest of the world would immediately ignore the standard. /s

  • I know some have objections to the buildingSmart Validation Service, but it will go a long way towards reducing these sorts of problems. We can’t have consistent and reliable exchanges without consistent and reliable adherence to our agreed upon language. For this reason several State Departments of Transportation in the US are pooling resources to advance the development of the VS.
