3D ifc Symbols

Symbols for 3D and Viewport, maybe I create/share more, if there is interest. (At the beginning just 3 of them for understanding)
For 3D safety plans and disscussions...
Imo the benefit with such symbols would be to see them also in (bim)viewers.

  • Hi @Mas, nice symbols BTW, would they be an IfcAnnotation or are the better as a building element proxy? I would like to learn how to best classify these things

Hi @Nigel , Thx..., I think the classification as IfcAnnotation would be best (also from the definition from buildingsmarts ifcschema). But as i think (tested some times ago) not all viewers display annotation correct. In Bim Vision I see it classified as IfcAnnotation. In ArchiCad its not displayed. (The intention is to have symbols for 3D views not as lines like in planview). If a person whose not familiar with ifc open it in a viewer should check the final points. (but sure the right classification would be better)

The purpose is more for fireattack "plans" or evacuation-"plans" in 3d btw in a model. The "classfinder" is a useful solution!

Thats my opinion, how parts/ducts should be modeled. (Sometimes it´s a little bit tricky, about ports i don´t care)

Attatched .ifc, looks cool in viewers...
