custom Opening

I tried to create an opening by following the method in the YouTube video link, but it always fails. Is that method no longer applicable in the latest BonsaiBim?

    it looks OK from here:

    but shift+O (while both are selected, with wall or multi object tool from panet T selected) is probably faster..
