Water Pump

1) Are we able to use GeoNodes to create a parametric water pump without losing the GeoNodes modifier if the pump gets converted to an IfcPump?
2) How do we define the 'Ports' / MEP connectors on the pump?
Thanks

  • Geometry nodes are not yet supported as an automatic parametric geometry generation modifier. We really should add support for it.

Any distribution may have ports added manually in the Services and Systems tab, under the Ports panel. Warning though that although it works, it is still highly "manual" and not battle tested. Many things are incomplete.

  • Perhaps, until GNs are implemented, we could have a system like Revit where we simply fill out the IfcSaveAs field? This way, the elements with GN modifiers will still show up in our drawings without us losing the GN modifiers when BB converts them.....

I think it's already possible, just need to update the representation manually every time you want to capture current geo nodes state into representation, then you'll be able to see it in the drawing. Update representation is available from Shift+E pie menu -> Update Representation
