Custom QTO measures - how to? (possible?)

Say I have a slab with variable thickness. I'd like to generate two QTO properties, one for the minimum height of the slab, one for the maximum height.
Apologies if it's obvious/easy, I haven't been following the developments of the QTO functions that closely. From a quick search and poking around the forum I couldn't find anything. Thanks.
