BonsaiBim IfcDoor Seting 3D configuration

Could someone help me to configure the door so that the panel is displayed in 3D open at 90 degrees?

Hi @ClimaElitejpm, here is one way to do it. You can select the door and press TAB, then select the panel and press TAB again. Select all the geometry and perform the rotation. See video attached.

  • bruno_perdigao,
    Works perfect!
Thank you very much for your help! It would be a great help to have at some point an update that incorporates an additional parameter where you can configure this option to open the panel in 3D.
It would also be very helpful to have another parameter that allows to mirror the door as when using the CTR+F command (the problem with that command is that when executing CTR+F the door is positioned in a different location without respecting the axis).
I am very grateful for your help and commitment in the development of each BB update. I have been a user for over 1 year and the progress in each version update is impressive!!!!
Thanks to all involved for their effort and commitment!

  • Thanks @bruno_perdigao ! Is this still working in blender 4.3.2 bonsai v0.8.0? I have tried it but the TAB key will not switch to edit mode. If I go directly and change in the menu to "edit mode" I can replicate your procedure. Unfortunately it looks that is not saved in IFC (only in blender).
Is there a way to have doors/windows opened to some arbitrary angle and get this saved in IFC?
    Thanks!

please try this, it's important to follow the "double-tab" sequence
1st tab from Ifc Object Mode -> Ifc Item Mode
2nd tab from Ifc Item Mode -> Ifc Edit Mode

    hope it helps

@vdl also too, is the door a parametric door? If so, the tab won't work, as the door's driven by parameters.

  • Thanks @steverugi ! I followed your steps and succesfully done it. I have seen that this is possible in versions v0.8.1-alpha. In teh current stable v.0.8.0 the double edit mode is not workign as described. Thanks a lot for the explanation!

@theoryshaw It is indeed parametric. I have seen that if I change the parameters, the door is regenerated and I lose both this rotation and the allocation of surfacestyles to the representation items. I guess it is understandable as the parameter change could affect the representation items and whether the door is sliding/swinging, etc.

I guess a possible feature request could be to have an extra door (or window) parameter providing a percentage from 0 closed to 100% open so the regeneration keeps this setting.
    Thanks for your help!
