Hello everyone!
I recently posted another parametric door and window component in the FC library. With it, you can generate more than twenty different types through macros. You can also save new models for later use. I hope you find them useful and interesting!

Very cool, are any of these parameters codified in IFC?
Would be nice to start an initiative to improve the pipeline between freecad, bonsai, and others, via standard ifc parameters.
Thank you.
No, I still don't know how to code in IFC, I would need help for this.
But this would be one of the next steps to take. Ideally, we would have IFC elements such as door and window frames and panels, shutters, etc. for direct conversion. As far as I know, we have not yet reached (or will we ever reach?) this level of detail. Am I right?
A straightforward and simplistic way is to transform all visible objects into simple copies, create a compound with them and from there create a BIM library element. But from what I have experienced, all materials and their characteristics would be lost, including their parametric nature.
So, suggestions and attempts are very welcome!
kind of out of the blue, but isn't the big advantage of freecad that it let's you create and update 2D drawings, while bonsai requires an external tool like inkscape? Or did I miss some recent developments?
In each component file there are also pre-established sections that can generate views, sections and plans providing the necessary bases for the detail sheets. If you want, I can post illustrative images.
