Some questions and thoughts after using BBIM for modeling for a while

I guess the right place for these is the Feature Requests section, or in some cases the Bugs section, but still, here are some thoughts and questions. I'll be using this same post to add them as they arise.

  1. When using metric units, the tool units displayed in the top-left corner of the 3D view should always show two decimal digits. Currently, for example, 3.65 is shown as 3.7 until you click and activate the dimension input field. Is there a way for user to change how many digits are displayed?

    1. Is there a way to snap to grid lines even when they are on a different floor/level and that level is turned off — but the grids are still visible (which is of course a good thing)?
  • Hi. I agree with the first, I lost count of the amount of times I click there to check my wall height, even if I just need to check for reference, so I draw another wall. I don't know if is blender or bonsai code, but would be good to have the exact measurements right there.
About the second, I usually place my grid in the ifcsite, not in the storey, so rarely I have that issue - but I agree with you - if you see it, it should snap - I could be wrong, but seems to me a good feature to open in an issue

    1. is unfortunately a Blender limitation with how floating point numbers representing a length are displayed in the interface. One solution I think would be to ditch the length suffix (eg "m"). Another one would be display the length with another way, like adding it in the 3D viewport when a wall is selected.
    1. Ability to split a wall horizontally and retain both halves.
