Is anyone using IfcGridAxis and the attached IfcAnnotation[GRID] without error?

Is anyone using IfcGridAxis and the attached IfcAnnotation[GRID] without error?
If so, can you share your workarounds--as currently there seems a few bugs related to their use?

  • My recent experience is that some of the IfcAnnotation[GRID] don't show in the elevations, and I have done all I could, but there has been no success so far.

It seems the inability for IfcAnnotation[GRID] to be created from IfcGridAxis persists.
I have IfcGridAxis, but now I don't get the corresponding IfcAnnotation[GRID] when I create drawings. This is a big issue now and any progress on resolving it? It's getting frustrating now.

I have tried grids recently after going around in circles some time ago, it still didn't work well when creating a drawing/printing.
There is a big chance that I used it the wrong way. Attached is my very basic model for refrence.

  • As a work around, we're just using IfcAnnotation lines with GRID as the ObjectType.

Unfortunately, however, you have to recreate your grid system on every drawing.
Would be nice if there was a way to use 'Linked Aggregates' for IfcAnnotations that worked across drawings. This would be helpful in other scenarios, not just this grid workaround.
