Difficulty in handling surface (not recognised) and assigning IFC data to it

Hello community!
I'm having a problem with one of my projects in BonsaiBIM. The geometry comes from Civil Site Design and is a bit of a mess. Normally I'm able to edit the geometry using the double tab key, but in this case it doesn't work.
It doesn't recognise the surface and classifies it as "IfcOpenShell".

It should be "IfcFacetedBrep" for the solid and "IfcTriangulatedFaceSet" for the face.

So I tried to remove the IFC data from the object and reattach it (as an IfcElement ) but the object disappears.
Any idea what's going on?
