Best way to install an experimental Blender branch

edited January 2023 in General

Is there a relatively easy way to install an experimental Blender branch like the following, and play around with it?

Not sure where to find the install, if that's even possible, or do you have to compile this first?

  • Are you finding the snapping better/faster than the cad transform addon? it doesn't seem to help with inches and fractions

I haven't messed around with it that much, but I think it will work better in 'camera' views.

Although this issue is 'closed', i still experience problems snapping when in a camera view.
But yes the inches/fractions thing is invaluable.

  • Any suggestions as to where to store build files. A warning on their github suggest not to store it in a UAC folder. I understand that to be a Window User Account folder. Should I be creating a folder under Program Files or Program Data or should I just create a folder on my local C: drive?
