Nice, Will It also be possibile to have the exported DXF in scale 1:1 ?

Awesome. Seems that when Use Block References is checked everything goes to layer 0?

Whoops, didn't intend that. I pushed another commit that fixes that.

  • @zoomer you're thinking of the BURST command in ACAD I think.

I am not sure. BURST is part of "Express Tools", never heard of that before.
    Funktionsbeschreibung:
Explodes blocks, converting attribute values to text objects (Express Tools)
    ?

I am not very familiar with (or amused by) Autocad behaviors. It is just that my Bricscad, where I love all Bricscad-own features on top, from bottom down is 99% Autocad feature and unfortunately "behavior" compatible, for the target group.

And once I complained that when I explode Blocks, that all its children lose their attributes and get assigned the Block attributes instead of .... someone mentioned using EXPLODE instead of XPLODE (or vice versa). And I tried the other and children of the exploded Block kept their Layer and "by Layer" assignments.
(But when I need, I can't remember which worked and which not, so I try both and undo until I get what I expect ....)

Therefore I like that this Inkscape Extension for DXF export is also able to keep the childrens attributes when exploding a Block/Group and not using the Autocad standard (?) behavior.

I would be very happy if there is a video tutorial on how to install it.

  • Because I have already tried, but it did not work.

  • Go to here to download the latest zip: https://github.com/elschilling/class2layer/releases
Extract it, and then put into the following...

  • Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say a big thank you to the developer of the IfcClass ezdxf exporter!
This add-on has finally brought a long-awaited feature to BonsaiBIM – the ability to export DXF drawings that include annotation elements.

Until now, the native BonsaiBIM export workflow didn’t support annotations, which often made collaboration with other design disciplines a bit tricky. With this plugin, I’ve now been able to export several drawings in 1:1 scale including text annotations, and then manually scale the dimensions and text afterwards.

So first of all – great work and thank you for this! 👏

    One small feature request:
Would it be possible to add a scale parameter for dimensions/text when exporting in 1:1 scale?
That would make it much easier to generate drawings directly usable for consultants who still require DWG deliverables, without the need to rescale annotation objects afterward.

Thanks again for this excellent addition to the BonsaiBIM ecosystem!

  • btw, how do you get your dxf to be correctly scaled out of the gate?
I usually have to manually scale the dxf in qcad, or similar.

I just changed the my drawing scale to 1:1 and printed the drawing from bonsaibim. Then used the inkscape plugin to export the svg file into dxf. You probably don't see the drawing in inkscape but it seemed to work. Only thing is that the annotation text is super small so you need to scale them.
