Hello!
I'm very new to blenderBim, and I was wondering if it was possible to add time series entities in blenderBim?
I looked for it, but didn't find it.
Hi @acandael welcome.
From my understanding I don't think there's a UI, in BB, for adding ifcTimeSeries entities to properties yet.
As i understand it, there is however, functionality in IfcOpenShell for adding these entities. So it's halfway there. :)
Best, Ryan
There isn't yet any IfcOpenShell API function written for it. Would you be able to describe your usecase in more detail? That would help us figure out how best to implement it.
I don't really have a precise use case to be honest, I'm basically just exploring a bit IFC and its possibilities for storing sensor data, and I'm using BB for that :)
I'm working on a project where some structural elements are being monitored by several sensors (T°, strain, displacement), and I'm investigating how a BIM model can act as a sort of Digital Twin, or at least as a central 'database' for coupling structural analysis tools (such as FEM modelling, etc.). The global framework revolves around facility management (in this case structures such as tunnels, bridges) and life cycle management.
Question I ask myself among others: should sensor data be stored directly in the BIM model (via TimeSeries(?)) or should I just link data?
