[Blender] SDNF export

In my work I often use SDNF (Steel Detailing Neutral Format) files to transfer plate geometry to fabricators and structural analysis software. My workflow for this has been a pain for years and involved having two versions of blender amongst other things. I finally put this functionality into an SDNF export addon.

Basically I use the Solidify modifier to assign plate thicknesses and centreline offsets (It also generates linear beam elements from blender objects that consist entirely of edges):

The 3D Print addon is great for identifying and fixing bad geometry such as non-planar faces:

Select your objects and Export to SDNF:

This gives me a very fast turnaround workflow for getting the model into (proprietary) analysis software:
