Any ideas on the best way to mitre the vertical member in this image to fit under the angled members.
Why not just make it a separate type with a mesh representation?
Are IfcRelConnectsPathElements with ConnectionGeometry an actual way of doing things like this? or is it too advanced for most software as of today?

But this way you can't edit the profiles as easily?
Maybe this is related: https://github.com/IfcOpenShell/IfcOpenShell/issues/3081
IfcRelConnectsPathElements connects two path-based elements, not a path based to a profile based (i.e. roof slab). For this we need multiple regular rel connects with clipping planes.
