BlenderBIM *.ifc file association

The daily BlenderBIM add-on has a couple of new buttons in the Preferences:

This will add a Desktop launcher icon for BlenderBIM, it also creates an IFC file association, so you can double-click on an IFC in a file browser and it opens in BlenderBIM directly:

This is currently Linux only, so does anyone know enough Windows registry to be able to fix this to do the same for Windows?
