Easy way to create IFC Walls that are not rectangular?

edited September 2024 in General

Hi everyone,
I'm rather new to Blender and BlenderBIM. Right now I would like to create a wall that does not have a rectangular shape. When using Blenders Edit Mode, the changes do not affect the IFC file and get reverted when reloading the project. My only workaround so far is to add a cube --> change the geometry as desired --> assign the IFCWallType. However, then I have to manually add my MaterialLayerSet.
Is there an easier way to change the shape, e.g. when I have a house with a gable roof and I do not want the walls to peak through the roof?
I already found this thread, but following its approach I only get the error message "Two or more vertically or horizontally layered elements must be selected to connect their paths together"
Anyone able to help? :)
